Hello! My name is Emma Hartsell with American Heritage Girls Troop WA0716, and I am working on earning my Stars and Stripes Award.
For my service project, I am creating a Memorial Garden for the Unborn in the breezeway between the gym and the school, on the Our Lady Star of the Sea campus, in the space pictured below. This will be a space dedicated to remembering and honoring the lives of the unborn by providing a peaceful place for reflection, healing, and prayer for anyone who has experienced the loss of a child in some way.
Current Garden inbetween OLSOS School and Gym
In the garden, we will be installing a stone walkway, a roofed structure, and a life-size marble statue of the Blessed Mother (pictured above), along with two stone benches and a variety of plants.
