OUR SCHOOL
Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic School forms Missionary Disciples fully alive in Christ Jesus. Our Catholic Liberal Education integrates the classical liberal arts tradition—encompassing the trivium (grammar, logic, rhetoric) and quadrivium (arithmetic, geometry, music, astronomy)—with Catholic teaching, fostering critical thinking, moral virtues, and spiritual growth through engagement with timeless texts, prayer, and sacraments. This mission is in accord with our history of imparting all that is genuinely good, true, and beautiful, cultivating wonder and purpose as students live out their faith to transform the world.
Located in beautiful Bremerton, Washington, Our Lady Star of the Sea School is for children in pre-kindergarten through 8th grade. We partner with parents who are the primary educators of their children. An outstanding Catholic Liberal Arts School community, we parent with parents who are the primary educators of their children. We are known for:

OUR MISSION STATEMENT
Under the patronage of our Blessed Mother, the mission of Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic School is to support parents in their role as the primary educators of their children. Our classical training nourishes the students’ natural sense of wonder and guides them to know and love what is genuinely good, true, and beautiful. Faithful to the teachings of the Catholic Church, we form our students to be virtuous disciples of Jesus Christ and joyful witnesses to the Gospel.

A LETTER FROM OUR PRINICPAL:
Thank you for your interest in Our Lady Star of the Sea School. OLSOS has a rich history of providing Catholic education in the greater Kitsap County region. This coming school year, 2026–2027, we will begin celebrating our school’s 100th year of forming missionary disciples fully alive in Jesus Christ!
We are thrilled to continue our commitment to Catholic Liberal Education for our students and their families. I am often asked, "Why is this educational approach so special?" Catholic liberal education offers a holistic, rigorous, and engaging formation of the human person—a method cherished for centuries until the early twentieth century.
Like educators of the past, we begin with two presumptions: 1) that the truth is knowable in and of itself and 2) all learning is designed to conform ourselves to the truth. In this quest our students learn how to wonder, and, most importantly, how to pursue truth, beauty, and goodness. Our students engage deeply with subjects through poetry, recitation, craft, and song. We intentionally foster joy in learning, helping students discover that God calls us all to be lifelong learners—an invitation into a profound relationship with Him and the mystery of who we are in His love.
At Our Lady Star of the Sea School, we give what we have received. What do I mean by this? The answer can be found outside of the school chapel. A large granite plaque proclaims: “Let it be known to all who enter here that Christ is the reason for this school. He is the Master teacher in all its classes. He is the standard for all our teachers and the inspiration for all our students.” Connecting Christ across various disciplines, our mission is that our students be transformed into beacons of Christ’s light to the world as we equip them with a relevant and powerful message of truth, meaning, and purpose. Impressing upon our students, that above all things, love be our guide.
Our teachers are passionately committed to igniting a love of learning in every child. My team and I have experienced a renewed zeal for our vocation, inspired daily by witnessing students transform from passive learners into deeply engaged scholars. I feel truly blessed to lead a school community on fire with the mission to renew Catholic education and nurture the holiness of our students.
