He served for over a decade in the United States Marine Corps where he deployed multiple times and served in a variety of leadership roles. He has extensive educational experience as a teacher\, head of school\, and school founder\, and served as an assistant to the President of Hillsdale College. His educational initiatives include founding and leading St. Martin’s Academy\, a farm-based boarding school\, as well as Iliad Athletics\, providing curricula and training in fitness\, outdoorsmanship\, and character development. Patrick has a B.A. from the University of Michigan\, and a M.A. from Washington University in St. Louis. His essays and poetry have appeared or are forthcoming in a variety of journals including the Marine Corps Gazette\, Michigan Quarterly Review\, Arion: A Journal of Humanities and the Classics\, The New Criterion\, and Touchstone.
