DESCRIPTION:Saturday\, December 19 from 9:30am-9pm \nAll Young Adults between the ages of 18 and 35 are welcome to join us for a day long retreat. \nFr. Lappe will be hearing confessions and expose the Blessed Sacrament for Adoration. We will attend the 5pm Mass as a group. \n\nOur retreat patron is St. Joseph.\nSt. Joseph was an ordinary man gifted with an extraordinary mission. This mission was quite difficult to fulfil given his cultural traditions and restrictive laws. We too\, as children of God\, are ordinary people prone to sin and discouragement yet are still called to an extraordinary life. \nWe also have speakers coming in to discuss the following topics: \n\n\n “Let there be Humans” Goal: God created male and female with distinct purposes and intentional diversity. When working in union with our biological makeup we are able to best fulfil God’s plan for man. \n\n\n “Know Thy Self” Goal: We must grow in self-knowledge in order to connect with the world in the way Christ has designed. Our humanity has created many obstacles to pull us away from union with Christ\, by strengthening our power of will and becoming more self-aware we will be able to fulfill this challenge. \n\n\n “Let’s Get Intimate” Goal: God is communal. We must learn the balance and boundaries of intimacy within the pyramid of importance: Communal\, Familial\, Spousal\, and Divine. I hope for this talk to be a Men’s and Women’s Session talk. \n\n\nCost: $10/person (All meals will be provided.)\nWhere: The retreat will be on campus. NO Confession on Sunday.\n \n  View the Livestream \n\nABOUT FR. JOHN BROUSSARD:\nI was raised in the town of Willis\, TX; there I grew up with my brother and my four sisters. I was homeschooled all through elementary school\, and all four years of High School. During those years\, prayer in my family was an important aspect of my development. We tried as a family to pray daily. I truly believe that my vocation was fostered in that time of prayer spent with my family. Praying with my family also helped to develop in me a love of the rosary\, and a strong devotion to our Lady.\nMy high school homeschooling was done through Seton Home Study School. Seton was a hard\, but a rewarding undertaking that taught me a lot about self-discipline\, and helped me to develop a strong work ethic.\nAfter I graduated from High School\, I developed a great love and devotion to our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament and found great strength and consolation from Him. I decided to focus my attention on the discernment of a priestly vocation. I went to visit the Franciscans in Hanceville\, Alabama\, where I met Fr. Wade Menezes with the Fathers of Mercy.\nI am now a permanently professed religious brother of the Fathers of Mercy. My time with this religious community has been a rewarding and grace-filled experience. God has given me many great gifts. Simple things\, like a strong faith\, and a close family for me to develop. I know that God is leading me in the direction of the Priesthood and religious life.\n
