“Jesus went around to all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom, and curing every disease and illness. At the sight of the crowds, his heart was moved with pity for them because they were troubled and abandoned, like sheep without a shepard.” –Matthew 9:35-36
Our hearts, too, are moved with pity for the tens of thousands of our brothers and sisters in Texas and Louisiana dealing with the on-going and horrific consequences of hurricane Harvey.
We will be taking up an emergency collection the weekend of September 9 & 10 with the proceeds going directly to disaster relief, and to support the pastoral & rebuilding efforts of the affected areas – distributed by the USCCB to Catholic Charities USA.
Thank you for your generosity and prayerful solidarity.
