Scripture Memory Challenge (1st Edition)

A few weeks ago Rich Maffeo came to our  church to give a talk on Wednesday night. I was very inspired by his love for scripture and he challenged us to memorize a scripture verse a week. I am going to post each month four verses for each week of the month that teach and promote the teaching of the Catholic faith. I challenge you to learn and memorize them.

How to defend the Catholic devotion of Mary?

1. "And the angel coming to her, he said: Hail, full of grace, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women" (St. Luke 1, 28)

This is the first time that an Angel calls any human full of grace.

2. "A great portent appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars" (Rev. 12, 1);

Catholic scripture scholars say that this woman is Mary.

3. "'Woman, behold your son.' Then he said  to the disciple, 'Behold, your mother.'"  (John 19:26-27)

Enough said...

4. "For behold, henceforth all generations will call me blessed" (St. Luke 1, 48);

She is blessed and she should be honored, because as Christians trying to imitate Christ we need to treat Mary as Jesus did.
