5 years ago yesterday, on April 19, 2005, Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger was elected to the Chair of Peter as the 265th pope. Do you remember that day? I remember skipping class to stay at home and watch the news on TV. It was such a joy-filled day for Catholics.

Let us remember Pope Benedict in our prayers as he begins his 6th year as our pope—our German Shepherd—especially during this difficult time for the Church which is under attack by the media.
