The Kitsap 40 Days for Life began on Ash Wednesday and continues during Lent through March 28th. This is a wonderful opportunity for Christians to get involved in ending abortion and fostering a Culture of Life. For those unfamiliar with the campaign, 40 Days for Life is intended to draw attention to the evil of abortion via three forms of peaceful action -- prayer and fasting, constant vigil, and community outreach. Since beginning in 2007, the nationally coordinated 40 Days for Life campaigns have been held in 282 cities across the United States, Canada, Australia, Northern Ireland and Denmark. As a result of the prayer and action of thousands of participants, there have been nearly 3,000 lives spared from the violence of abortion, which accounts for only known lives saved.
The precious pre-born children need our prayers and they need our witness. This Lent is the perfect time to unite our suffering with the unborn, and take some time to pray, fast and stand vigil at the abortion facility in Bremerton.
